For US military, the training really depends on the service branches and its policy of rotating vets back to state side in order to teach the hard learned lessons on the battlefield to the new recruits and trainees. US Navy and USMC pilots got to rotate back to classroom to become instructor pilots. USAAF had similar policy, but don't think regular US Army got that sort of rotation policy for its grunts....
Nazi Germany and Japan forces pretty much made its vets stay with the unit until it moved, or until the unit is gone.... |
