Well, it is quite normal in many democratic countries nowadays. In the beginning, electors voted to another candidate to unleash their dissatisfaction to the original government which failed to solve the problems, and made another candidate win overwhelmingly. However, most problems/phenomenon can't be fix/change just by changing a government, than the public disappointed quickly, followed by the slump of the supporting rate. Also, when most people disappointed about the politic, the voting ratio won't be high.

既然馬英九跟國民黨這麼不光彩,對手們卻還是一路苦追,豈不是更不光彩?

4 years ago, KMT was talking about when will DPP "collapse"..... but even then, DPP still managed to get 42% of vote.

To be honest, I don't think she is a strong leader, so personally, I do amazed about how she can make so far (or so close) to win.........

Or, many of them (except the Japanese PM) are "over-promised" when during the election, so it makes people more disappointed when they become "reality" ....

The Japanese PM case is similar to Australia: More than 50% population in our country want to change the PM now, but we can't...........And so, our nation is now hijacked by a small party called the green, which only got 9% vote..... Simply because we can only vote for party (and their alliance) rather than the particular PM.......

Definitely, the loser have nothing else to do after the election.
The result doesn't surprise me. The distance between them is closed, but not enough to defeat Ma. Also, the votes Ma gets is a little bit under estimated again.
Maybe the two parties rule government in terms for every 8 years is a good idea.

選舉結果出來就是幾家歡樂幾家愁˙˙˙˙落選的願賭服輸!贏的也不要驕傲ˋ因為人民隨時可以拉你下台!(國父說的罷免和彈劾權能實現嗎?)
不過這次總算比較邁向正常民主國家的水準(但比起日本美國差很多)不再靠激情或族群甚至是舞弊的ˋ也希望我們國家人民以後不要再為選舉而狂熱(這恐怕難吧)像泰國就是政黨惡鬥過度沒注意到環保和水利造成難以收拾的大水患ˋ菲律賓也是每次選出高度期望總統卻每次失望菲律賓只能靠老百姓當外勞給國家賺外匯 !
目前台灣所要面臨的民生等各種問題非常嚴峻ˋ伊朗和西方已經無法避戰油價不斷狂飆ˋ歐債危機越來越烈ˋ國債又不斷升高社福年金支出卻也調升更是雪上加霜ˋ黑心食品目前只是冰山一角不知還有多少黑幕等等太多說不完!這千瘡百孔可是未來執政團隊的大考驗!

反正換誰上台都沒差，每個總統參選人與政黨都是在比社福玩健保吹公益：這家標榜任內社福預算有史以來最高，那家主打加強劫富濟貧以打造偽義福利國，又一家高喊免費全冥健保公醫制......∼所以不管是誰主政，都是準備挖錢坑印鈔票，朝如今希臘的結局下場全力邁進。

勝選的人沒什麼好沾沾自喜 不妨仔細反省反省 對手的批評也不見得完全是中傷
敗選的人也沒必要寄望還有下次 想翻盤嘛 還須先試探一下臺灣選民健望指數的高低
至於敝人最近嘛...閉門謝客 只想重溫一下青少年時代的舊夢 整理整理一些太平洋戰爭的 video
有感美國後人懂得創業維艱 守成不易
所以至今把太平洋緊緊捏在手裡 看好淌了前人鮮血的內湖

看美國人有多少看板布條 選舉污染？

同意上面其他人說的，那是因為美國人很久以前就玩過，也玩到膩了。
就算是共和羅馬，台灣選舉的這類花招，羅馬人在兩千年前也是這樣玩。
